1 Unit 1 It’s more than twenty thousand kilometres long.本单元的话题是描绘一个景点或城市的特征。本单元的课文情境是Daming向Simon介绍他带给Simon的中国明信片。Daming向Simon说明了长城有多长，教材分析 北京有多大，同时，Simon也告诉Daming纽约有多大。课文充分展示了两位小朋友对异国文化的好奇心以及求知欲望，同时也增强了各自的祖国意识。学生通过学习进而可以运用所学语言简单描绘一个景点或城市。本单元的学习为全体学生在Unit 2运用英语详细介绍自己所理解的一座城市做了充分的准备。本单元共1课时完成。
本模块的学习重点是学会运用How long is it?以及It’s more than… long.这一构造。尽管这是学生初次接触议论物品长度的句型，但是，在之前的学习中学生充分理解和使用了how many, how much, how old等相学情分析
似的句型，所以学生理解起来并不难，主要是通过这种句型来接触和学习一些新词汇并学会运用，同时，通过学习帮助学生复习和归纳be动词is/are的用法。相信学生可以通过读和说等活动很好地完本钱课的学习任务。从而，可以在本模块学习完毕后用英语详细介绍自己所理解的一座城市的相关特征。
